ZANZIBAR, March 25 -- ZANZIBAR has stepped up efforts to diversify its tourism sector during the first 100 days of the governments second phase, focusing on new products and international visibility.
Acting Minister for Tourism and Heritage, Mr Mudrik Ramadhan Soraga, said the government is expanding tourism offerings beyond traditional beach tourism to include conference, festival, sports and medical tourism.
Speaking to journalists in Zanzibar yesterday, Mr Soraga said the move is aimed at strengthening the sectors contribution to the economy while enhancing its resilience.
