ZANZIBAR, Aug. 12 -- ZANZIBAR is strengthening its health research capacity through a new partnership with a Chinese medical university aimed at generating scientific evidence to improve healthcare services and address emerging health challenges.

The Zanzibar Health Research Institute (ZAHRI), under the Ministry of Health, has signed a cooperation agreement with Ningning Medical University in China to promote research, professional exchanges and technology transfer.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, the Ministry of Health Principal Secretary, Dr Mngereza Mzee Miraji, said the agreement reflects the governments commitment to strengthening the health sector through research that provides practical solutions to societal challenges.
