ZANZIBAR, Oct. 21 -- ZANZIBAR has received 36 doctors from China to strengthen healthcare services in hospitals across Unguja and Pemba, while promoting the exchange of medical knowledge and expertise with local professionals.

The doctors were received by the Ministry of Health after arriving to introduce themselves to ministry officials ahead of their deployment to hospitals across the islands.

Minister for Health, Mr Nassor Ahmed Mazrui said Zanzibar and China enjoy longstanding cooperation in the health sector, which continues to support efforts to improve healthcare delivery.

He expressed confidence that the visiting doctors would contribute to patient care and share their professional expertise with local health workers.
