When the meeting ends, leadership communications begin
DAR ES SALAAM, July 31 -- LAST week I reflected on my time at the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA), where I attended meetings that changed my career trajectory.
I remember one meeting that challenged my leadership communication perspective.
The meeting had ended exactly as planned. The Chair thanked everyone for their participation. Laptops closed almost in unison.
Notebooks disappeared into briefcases and chairs slid gently backwards as people stood up, shook hands and slowly walked towards the door.
On paper, it had been a productive meeting. The agenda had been completed, decisions reached and action points assigned.
Yet I found myself paying less attention to the meeting that had just ended, instead I paid more ...
