MBEYA, Oct. 14 -- VICE President Deogratius Ndejembi is expected to visit Mbeya Region on October 16 for a one-day working tour to inspect the progress of various development projects underway in the region.

Mbeya Regional Commissioner, Jumanne Sagini, said the projects scheduled for inspection include a power substation under construction in the Iganjo area of Mbeya City and the upgrading of a 29-kilometre section of the Tanzania-Zambia Highway (TANZAM) between Nsalaga and Ifisi into a four-lane road.

Another project on the itinerary is the construction of water storage tanks to facilitate the supply of water from the Kiwira River source to Mbeya City and rural areas of Mbeya District.
