ACCRA, July 22 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan yesterday embarked on a one-day working visit to Accra, Ghana, to attend the African Union Extraordinary Summit on Health.

The summit, which opens today, will bring together African Heads of State and Government to discuss measures aimed at strengthening health systems, expanding equitable access to healthcare and accelerating progress towards universal health coverage across the continent.

According to a statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communications, the leaders will deliberate on strategies to end AIDS and tuberculosis, reduce preventable maternal and child deaths and improve Africas preparedness to respond to current and future public health challenges.
