TRA urges new firms to tap one-year tax relief
BUKOBA, Sept. 4 -- THE Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) in Kagera Region has urged new business owners to register for Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TIN) to benefit from a one-year tax exemption announced in the 2026/27 government budget.
TRA Kagera Deputy Regional Manager, Mr Estomih Mossi, made the call during a consultative meeting with leaders of the Tanzania Business Community (JWT) and traders held recently in Bukoba Municipality.
He said the initiative seeks to spur business growth, encourage entrepreneurs to formalise their operations, widen the tax base and create a more enabling business environment.
