DAR ES SALAAM, May 29 -- THE winner of the sixth season of the “Mkali wa Jiko” cooking competition is expected to walk away with a cash prize of 5m/- a scholarship to study at the National College of Tourism, and various employment opportunities.

Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam, the competition coordinator, Zainabu Issa, said the sixth season aims to give young people an opportunity to showcase their cooking talents while gaining more knowledge about the tourism and food service industries.

She said food is an important part of both personal and national identity, adding that cooking is an art that requires creativity, precision, and proper recipe preparation skills.
