DAR ES SALAAM, May 2 -- ZOOLOGISTS say that Udzungwa Mountains National Park is home to the elusive Udzungwa forest partridge. Scientists describe partridges as medium-sized galliform birds belonging to several genera, with a broad natural distribution across parts of Europe, Asia and Africa.
The Udzungwa forest partridge was named after the Udzungwa Mountains, where it was first discovered. Notably, this bird is so distinctive that its genus is considered unique within the order Galliformes, highlighting its remarkable evolutionary lineage.
