DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 9 -- THE Tanzanian government has continued to create a conducive environment for citizens to actively participate in the mining sector through various reforms, including the introduction of the Mining for Brighter Tomorrow (MBT) programme, which aims to empower young people and women, including those with special needs, to participate in and benefit from opportunities available in the sector.

Speaking at the launch of the programme, held alongside the launch of Barricks research aircraft, the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy and Minerals, Subira Mgalu, commended the government for introducing the initiative, saying it had come at an opportune time.
