DAR ES SALAAM, March 13 -- SEVEN Tanzanian nationals who were stuck in Iran have arrived in Dar es Salaam tonight following a rescue operation coordinated by the Tanzanian government.
The Tanzanians arrived at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) at 8:40 PM aboard a Turkish Airlines flight from Turkey, where they had been received after crossing the border from Iran.
At the airport, the returning citizens were welcomed by Ambassador Abdallah Kilima, Director of the Middle East Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, along with other ministry officials. The reception was marked by emotional reunions with family and relatives, who had been deeply concerned about the safety of their loved ones.
