MBEYA, Oct. 9 -- CEMENT producers in Tanzania have been urged to refrain from practices that disrupt the market by increasing cement prices contrary to established regulations.

The call was made by the Minister for Industry and Trade, Judith Kapinga, during her visit to Mbeya Cement Factory in Mbeya Region, where she inspected production activities, listened to challenges facing the factory, and identified opportunities within the industrial sector.

Minister Kapinga said the government was closely monitoring the situation and would take appropriate action against any cement producer or factory found engaging in practices that undermine the market.
