DODOMA, March 25 -- All Parliamentary Standing Committee meetings have been suspended today, March 25, 2026, following the death of Isimani MP and Minister of State in the Prime Ministers Office, William Lukuvi.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Mussa Azzan Zungu, announced the decision in line with Standing Order 176 of the August 2025 edition, as a mark of respect for the late leader.

Lukuvi passed away earlier today at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment.

He was widely regarded as one of the countrys seasoned political figures with significant contributions to Parliament and public service.
