ARUSHA, July 3 -- TANZANIA has intensified preparations to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations saying preparations have reached the advanced stages to enable it meet the standards set by the Confederation of African Football before the events kick off.

Speaking in Arusha today, July 3, 2026, on behalf of the Chairperson of the National Permanent Secretaries Committee for AFCON 2027 preparations, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Hassan Abbasi, said the government has put in place comprehensive plans to ensure the championship is successfully hosted.
