DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 24 -- THE Tanzanian government says the Miss World pageant, which is expected to be held in Tanzania, will be used as an opportunity to showcase the countrys ethnic communities, traditions and culture on the international stage.

Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Paul Makonda made the remarks while speaking to journalists about preparations for the pageant. He said Miss World contestants from different countries would be given an opportunity to choose a Tanzanian ethnic community and learn about its culture.
