DOODOMA, April 24 -- THE Tanzanian government is rolling out sweeping reforms in the criminal justice system, including drafting a National Criminal Justice Policy and introducing a unified digital platform to improve efficiency and transparency across institutions.
The Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Dr Juma Homera made the statement when presenting the 2026/2027 budget in Parliament in Dodoma on Friday saying the reforms are part of the implementation of recommendations from a commission tasked with improving criminal justice institutions.
He said the changes focus on strengthening legal, structural and institutional frameworks to ensure justice is delivered professionally, efficiently and on time.
