Tanzania records 67.85 percent increase in the volume of exported honey
DODOMA, May 15 -- THE Tanzanian government has announced that the volume of honey exported has increased by 67.85 percent in 2025, reflecting growth in the beekeeping sector and rising competitiveness of the product in the global market.
The statement was made on May 15, 2026 by the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr Ashatu Kijaji, while presenting the ministrys revenue and expenditure estimates for the 2026/27 financial year in Parliament in Dodoma.
Dr Kijaji said honey exports increased from 951.6 tonnes in 2024 to 1,596.8 tonnes in 2025.
She further noted that the value of honey exports rose from 11.4bn/- in 2024 to 19.2bn/- in 2025, representing a 68.4 percent increase.
