DAR ES SALAAM, June 27 -- TANZANIA is stepping up efforts to transform its mining sector through increased mineral value addition, with the upcoming 7th Tanzania Mining and Investment Conference (TMIC 2026) expected to provide a platform for unlocking new development and investment opportunities.

Minister for Minerals Anthony Mavunde said the conference will be a significant milestone for the countrys mining industry as it will showcase achievements made in the sector while creating opportunities for further growth.

Speaking on Saturday, to kick-start preparations for the conference, Mavunde said a 3-day conference is scheduled to take place at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in November this year.
