DODOMA, July 25 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has today, July 25, 2026, led the nation in commemorating Heroes Day, paying tribute to Tanzanians who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the countrys freedom, peace and security.

The Head of State, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, presided over the national event held at the Mashujaa Grounds in Mtumba, Dodoma, where she underscored the countrys enduring respect for its fallen heroes.

President Samia arrived at the venue to full military honours before the national anthems of Tanzania and the East African Community were played.
