DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 15 -- THE Tanzanian government is moving to reduce the time fuel vessels spend at ports as part of measures to improve efficiency in the receipt, storage and distribution of petroleum products in the country.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy, Dr James Mataragio, revealed this during an inspection tour of petroleum infrastructure at the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) and Tanzania International Petroleum Reserves Limited (TIPER) noting that the government wants fuel vessels to be served promptly, discharge their cargo efficiently and leave ports without unnecessary delays.
