DODOMA, Aug. 20 -- THE Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Hamis Mwinjuma, has met with the Director of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Africa, Rodney Swigilaar, to discuss measures to strengthen the fight against the use of banned substances and illegal practices in sports.

During the meeting, the two officials also discussed Tanzanias role and responsibilities on the WADA Board following the countrys appointment as a member of the Board.

The appointment gives Tanzania an opportunity to participate in international discussions and decision-making processes aimed at strengthening the integrity of sports and ensuring athletes compete in safe, fair and internationally compliant environments.
