NJOMBE, May 1 -- THE Tanzanian government said it has successfully facilitated employment opportunities abroad for 7,593 Tanzanians, while efforts are ongoing to secure more positions in the international job market.

The statement was made by President Samia Suluhu Hassan while speaking during the 2026 International Workers Day celebrations held nationally in Njombe Region.

President Samia said that despite the progress achieved, there is still a need to establish clear systems and strong oversight for Tanzanians seeking employment abroad to ensure their rights and interests are fully protected.
