DAR ES SALAAM, March 14 -- THE Tanzanian government has intensified efforts to modernize transport infrastructure and maritime rescue services in a bid to enhance the safety of people and property while supporting sustainable national development.

Minister for Transport Prof Makame Mbarawa said the efforts are being implemented through government institutions responsible for regulating and managing maritime transport.
