DODOMA, Aug. 27 -- THE Tanzanian government is developing measures to make it easier for Tanzanians to obtain National Identification Authority (NIDA) numbers and identity cards, including through digital systems that will allow citizens to access the services from their locations.

Prime Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba revealed this at the Parliament in Dodoma on Thursday during the Question and Answer session stating that the government was also planning to reach citizens in rural areas and issue NIDA numbers in bulk as part of efforts to reduce the lengthy procedures currently involved in obtaining identification documents.
