TANZANIA cherishes its historical ties with Comoros as it marks its 51 years of independence
DAR ES SALAAM, July 3 -- TANZANIA has underscored its long-standing historical and diplomatic relationship with the Union of the Comoros during commemorations marking 51 years since the island nation gained independence.
The remarks were made by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr Ngwaru Maghembe, when attending a special lecture held at the Dr Salim Ahmed Salim Centre for International Relations in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking at the celebrations, Dr Maghembe pledged Tanzanias continued commitment to close cooperation with Comoros, noting that the relationship between the two countries is rooted in shared history and solidarity dating back to the liberation struggle.
