Tanzania advised to closely monitor private health laboratories with unqualified individuals
DODOMA, Sept. 1 -- THE Parliamentary Standing Committee on Administration, Constitution and Law has called on the government to strengthen oversight of private health laboratories to curb the provision of healthcare services by individuals without professional qualifications in laboratory science or other health-related fields.
The Committees Deputy Chairperson, Edwin Swale, said stronger oversight was necessary to protect public health and ensure that laboratory services are provided by qualified professionals recognised under the law.
Swale made the remarks in Parliament in Dodoma on behalf of the Committees Chairperson, Dr Damas Ndumbaro, while presenting the Committees views on the Miscellaneous Laws (Amendments) Bill, 2026.
