Tanzania, Uganda sign MoU to bolster cooperation in energy sector
DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 6 -- TANZANIA ania and Uganda have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the energy sector, a move expected to position Tanga Region as a major energy hub for the East African region.
The agreement was signed at the State House in Dar es Salaam today, August 6, 2026, in the presence of President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
Tanzania was represented by the Minister for Energy, Deogratius Ndejembi, while Uganda was represented by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Dr Monica Musanza.
