Tanzania, Kenya strengthen strategic agricultural cooperation
DODOMA, May 26 -- TANZANIA and Kenya have agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation in the agriculture sector, particularly in promoting trade, investment, and food security across the East African region.
The commitment was highlighted during talks between Permanent Secretary in the Tanzanias Ministry of Agriculture, Mr Gerald Mweli, and Kenyas Ambassador to Tanzania, Ms Catherine Wahome, held at Mtumba in Dodoma over the weekend.
Mr Mweli expressed Tanzanias readiness to cooperate with Kenya in the agriculture sector, referring to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries on May 4, 2026, in Dar es Salaam during the state visit of Kenyan President William Ruto.
