Tanzania, Kenya agree to strategic ties in the agribusiness to enhance food security
DODOMA, May 21 -- TANZANIA and Kenya have agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation in the agricultural sector, with a focus on boosting trade, investment and enhancing food security within the East African region.
The agreement was reached during a discussion between the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Gerald Mweli, and Kenyas High Commissioner to Tanzania, Catherine Wahome in Mtumba, Dodoma.
During their talks, the Permanent Secretary reaffirmed Tanzanias readiness to deepen collaboration with Kenya in the agriculture sector, referencing a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries.
