DAR ES SALAAM, Oct. 29 -- TANZANIA and Angola have pledged to strengthen cooperation in addressing regional security challenges and improving maternal and child health, as the two countries seek to build on their longstanding political relations.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan made the announcement today, October 29, at State House in Dar es Salaam during a joint press briefing with Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, following bilateral talks held as part of his state visit to Tanzania.

President Samia said the discussions had covered regional and international issues, including security challenges in parts of Southern Africa, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Great Lakes region.
