TAEC seeks to bust myths on cancer radiation care
KILIMANJARO, Aug. 31 -- THE Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) has called on the public to seek accurate information on radiation therapy, aiming to clear up widespread myths around cancer treatment.
Speaking during a visit by Women in Nuclear Tanzania (WiNTz) to the cancer unit at KCMC Zonal Referral Hospital, TAEC Laboratory Specialist Ms Hellen Kiyengo emphasised that education is vital to removing the stigma around nuclear technology.
“Proper education on radiation therapy will eliminate misconceptions about nuclear technology and strengthen public understanding of its importance in cancer treatment,” she said.
