Dar es Salaam, Sept. 30 -- PRESIDENT Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan yesterday appointed 22 new District Commissioners (DCs) and transferred 26 others in changes aimed at improving the efficiency of government operations and following the retirement of some leaders.

The changes, which also affect Regional Administrative Secretaries and Council Executive Directors, were announced by Chief Secretary Ambassador Moses Kusiluka and take effect immediately.

The President has also appointed 12 District Administrative Secretaries as Regional Administrative Secretaries, transferred four Regional Administrative Secretaries, appointed 17 Council Executive Directors and transferred 33 others.
