DODOMA, April 27 -- THE Tanzanian government has said that the rising global demand for strategic minerals is opening new economic opportunities for the country, particularly during the ongoing transition toward advanced technologies and clean energy systems.
The statement was made on April 27, 2026, in Parliament in Dodoma by the Minister for Minerals, Anthony Mavunde, while presenting the Ministry of Minerals budget for the 2026/2027 financial year.
Minister Mavunde said that demand for minerals such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and rare earth elements continues to grow rapidly worldwide due to their extensive use in modern technologies, including digital devices and clean energy systems.
