DODOMA, June 16 -- THE government has commissioned a 10.5bn/- electricity infrastructure project in Kongwa District, a move expected to strengthen power supply, spur industrial growth and attract new investments across Dodoma Region and neighbouring areas.

The project, comprising a new Switching Station and a 20 MVA Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) transformer at Mbande, will improve electricity reliability for households, businesses and industries while supporting the regions growing economic activities.

The project is expected to benefit Kongwa, Chamwino, Gairo and parts of Mpwapwa districts, where increasing demand for electricity has put pressure on existing infrastructure.
