Dar es Salaam, Sept. 25 -- THE government has called for greater adoption of good agronomic practices to reduce post-harvest losses, while urging the private sector to invest in storage, processing, drying and transport infrastructure, as losses are estimated to reach 40 per cent.

The Director for Crop Development at the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr Yasinta Nzogela, told the Daily News that the losses are caused by various challenges across the agricultural value chain, including poor farming practices, inadequate transport, drying, processing and storage infrastructure.
