BARIADI, Sept. 16 -- THE Tanzanian government has given itself one week to find a solution to rising cement prices, with Prime Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba directing experts to come up with measures to make the commodity more affordable to Tanzanians.

The PM made the statement when addressing residents of Bariadi Municipality during a public meeting held at CCM Saba Saba grounds adding that the government will announce measures aimed at bringing down cement prices.

According to the Premier, the government has taken note of complaints from citizens over the sharp increase in cement prices in different parts of the country, including Simiyu, where prices have reportedly reached more than 26,000 shillings per bag.
