PEMBA, Aug. 12 -- INCREASED tax compliance by residents has helped accelerate development in South Pemba, with improvements recorded in roads, education and health services.

This was disclosed by South Pemba Regional Commissioner, Rashid Hadidi Rashid, in a discussion with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) Commissioner General Yusuph Mwenda at his office in Pemba.

Speaking at the meeting, the RC stated that the region had witnessed significant infrastructure and social service improvements in recent years as more residents embraced tax payments to support development.
