MPs Urged to promote clean cooking energy adoption
DODOMA, June 17 -- SPEAKER of the National Assembly Mussa Azzan Zungu has urged women MPs to intensify public awareness on clean cooking energy as part of efforts to improve health and protect the environment.
Zungu made the call while opening a training session for women MPs organised by the State Mining Corporation (STAMICO) in Dodoma.
He said misconceptions about clean cooking energy remain widespread and require targeted public education to support national energy transition goals.
He cited perceptions that clean energy is expensive, difficult to use, and alters food taste, saying such views must be addressed to enable wider adoption.
The government aims to ensure that 80 per cent of Tanzanians use clean cooking energy by 2034.
