TANZANIA, Sept. 17 -- CONFEDERATION of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe is expected to arrive in Tanzania today as preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) enter a crucial phase.

Tanzania will co-host the continental showpiece with Kenya and Uganda, with Motsepes visit expected to provide another opportunity to assess the countrys readiness ahead of the tournament.

The CAF president, who will be accompanied by senior officials from the continental football governing body, is expected to inspect Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, one of Tanzanias designated AFCON venues.
