MOSHI, June 16 -- THE Moshi District Council is set to exceed its target for disbursing loans funded through 10 percent of its internally generated revenue during the 2025/2026 financial year, following strong loan recoveries and prudent management of its economic empowerment fund.

Speaking on the progress of the program, today, June 16, 2026, the Executive Director of Moshi District Council, Shedrack Mhagama, said the council had allocated over 1bn/- for loans targeting women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

By April 2026, a substantial portion of the funds had already been disbursed to dozens of groups, benefiting hundreds of residents across the district.
