DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 7 -- Residents of Mkuranga District in Coast Region are expected to benefit from the construction of a 33-kilovolt electricity transmission line linking the district to Mafia Island through a special underwater cable.

The project is expected to improve electricity supply, stimulate economic activities and create employment opportunities for residents, particularly during its implementation.

Speaking during a public awareness seminar on the project, Mkuranga District Administrative Secretary Omary Said said the initiative would strengthen electricity services and accelerate socio-economic development in the district.
