RUSHA, May 20 -- ARUSHA Region has begun organizing the first ever Tourism Marathon where athletes get to race inside one of the Northern Zones National Parks.

The maiden Arusha Tourism Marathon is reportedly coming up from the 5th to the 7th of June 2026 at the base of Mount Meru, which is Tanzanias second highest peak.

Planned to be an annual event, the new marathon is setting stage for the anticipated fun activities that will also color the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations tourney in 2027.

For the first time, the event participants will be racing inside the Arusha National Park in the event which is expected to feature three running categories of 21 kilometers Half-Marathon, 10 kilometers race and 5 kilometers fun run.
