LINDI, March 19 -- THE Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr Ashatu Kijaji, has announced that a total of 1.2 million trees have been planted in Lindi Region as part of the celebrations for World Forestry Day and the National Tree Planting Campaign.
Speaking at the launch of the celebrations held today, March 19, 2026, at Ilulu Grounds in Lindi, Dr Kijaji said that various activities have begun and will continue over the next three days, including tree planting exercises across all districts in the region.
