Kikwete visits Fatma Karume as Tanzania pledges support for retired leaders' spouses
ZANZIBAR, Aug. 20 -- THE Tanzanian government has pledged to continue addressing challenges facing families and spouses of retired national leaders to ensure they live in peace and security in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the country.
Minister of State in the Presidents Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance, Ridhiwani Kikwete, made the pledge when he visited Mama Fatuma Karume at her home in Unguja, Zanzibar, where he conveyed greetings from President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
“I promise that I will direct officials in my office to address any challenges that arise so that the families of national leaders and their spouses can continue to live in peace and security,” Kikwete said.
