DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 16 -- KENYAN athletes conquered the CRDB International Marathon after winning the 42km marathon in both men and womens categories.

The Kenyan runners secured a 1-2 victory in womens category and also sealed another 1-2 victory in mens category.

In the womens 42km full marathon , Kenyas Loyce Kemuma emerged as the winner after clocking 2 hours, 35 minutes and 26 seconds . Her compatriot Jacinta Chepkoech finished second, while Jane Chelangat of Tanzania secured third place.

In the mens 42-kilometre race, Abraham Kiptum of Kenya claimed first place after clocking 2:15:33. James Mwangi also from Kenya finished second, while Tanzanian Marco Monko came third.
