DAR ES SALAAM, July 31 -- Climate change is no longer a distant environmental concern it is one of the defining challenges of the 21st century, affecting economies, public health, food security, biodiversity, and livelihoods across the globe.

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global temperatures have already risen by approximately 1.1°C above pre-industrial levels, increasing the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as floods, droughts, heatwaves, and storms.
