WASHINGTON, April 20 -- AT the 2026 Spring Meetings in Washington, a range of critical issues affecting the global economy were addressed.

Some of these issues were discussed at the parallel sessions attended by central bank governors, finance ministers, CEOs of specific financial institutions, permanent secretaries of the Ministry of Finance and spectators eager to hear about the financial sector and the future of economic integration.

One session that particularly captivated me during this years side meeting was the one on marketbased financing. The immediate question that arose in my mind was: How long will it take for Tanzania to benefit from the introduction of new technologies, some of which seem practical for our setting?
