ARUSHA, Oct. 8 -- INTER-PARLIAMENTARY Union (IPU) outgoing President Dr Tulia Ackson has called on parliamentarians to put citizens at the centre of good governance by strengthening transparency, accountability and participation in decision-making.

Dr Tulia made the remarks in Arusha on Tuesday during the 153rd IPU Assembly, saying good governance should not be treated as an abstract principle but as a practical responsibility requiring institutions to respond effectively to changing realities while giving citizens a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their lives.
