Indonesian firm tables 500,000 US dollars for a palm oil plant in Kigoma
JAKARTA, July 17 -- AN Indonesian company is set to invest 500,000 US dollars in a palm oil plant in Kigoma Region that will produce soap, cooking oil and other oil-based products, with machinery expected to arrive in Tanzania in September this year.
The investment by Indonesian based company, PT Indo Sultan Jaya marks another step in strengthening Tanzania-Indonesia economic ties and follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 26, 2026, between the Indonesian firm and Tanzanias Tanganyika Oils and Fats Allied and Foods Products Company at the Tanzanian Embassy in Jakarta.
