ARUSHA, July 24 -- THE government has pledged to address irrigation, water, market and farm-input challenges facing farmers and livestock keepers in Monduli district as it moves to unlock the areas agricultural potential.

Agriculture Minister Daniel Chongolo said priority would be given to projects capable of increasing production and improving household incomes, including the completion of the 17-bn/- Mto wa Mbu irrigation scheme and construction of a modern market at Losirwa.

Mr Chongolo made the commitment while addressing thousands of residents at a public rally held at Losirwa Market in Esilalei Ward.
